What brought you to Trade?
What brought me to trade was at that time Butte Construction Company so when we shifted it into Trade, I decided I’m gonna stay.
What challenges were you facing before entering the program?
Before I got into Trade, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I needed to be productive and wanted to work with my hands. I wanted to acquire skills that I could take with me and teach my kids and at that time, I didn’t know what that would be .
How has Trade changed your outlook?
Trade definitely helped me get confidence and it definitely has changed the way that I interact with people. They have given me tools that I get to use outside of work as well, so it wasn’t just being able to build something, there was a lot of stuff that I learned from building relationships within the company that I’ve been able to take outside into my personal life and be successful there.

What skills have you learned?
I’ve learned a lot. I’ve learned about building codes. I’ve learned how to be more of an effective leader. I’ve learned how to pour and finish concrete. I’ve learned how to frame. I’ve learned how to install almost every kind of appliance. I’ve learned how to repair and remodel damaged homes.
How have you felt supported in your time working with Trade?
Well, as far as support goes, I know that anytime I’ve ever asked my boss or a coworker for help they’ve been able to walk me through the things that I don’t know. At the same time they do like to kick people out of the nest so they learn how to fly, which can be incredibly stressful, but also incredibly rewarding.
